CBS renews ‘The Young and the Restless,’ ‘Bold and the Beautiful,’ more
Do you love CBS and their daytime lineup? Then you are probably going to love what we have to share for you here.
Earlier this week at the network’s TCA presentation, it was confirmed that the entire daytime lineup, which includes “Let’s Make a Deal,” “The Price Is Right,” “The Young and the Restless,” “The Bold and the Beautiful,” and “The Talk” are all coming back for additional seasons. Are you surprised? You really shouldn’t be. These are all shows that have been a part of the network for some time, and if there is one thing that CBS has shown a fondness or over the years, it is consistency. They don’t like to make changes, mostly because they know that the vast majority of their viewing audience would flip out otherwise.
The biggest decision here from our part is the pickup of the soaps, mostly because the assumption has been there for quite a while that this is a dying genre of TV. The quality for these two shows has remained pretty constant, and the ratings for the most part have not crashed and burned all over the place. Hopefully, both of them are going to stay around for many years to come.
As for “Let’s Make a Dead,” CBS has realy hit a home run in finding another game show to actually pair with “The Price Is Right” that works. You can thank Wayne Brady for that, who is basically a CBS darling in between this show and “How I Met Your Mother” (where he has appeared in quite a few episodes so far this season). “The Talk” was something that could have been a big gamble for the network to take, but they were helped dramatically by being able to have personalities like Julie Chen and Sharon Osbourne on board.
Are you excited to see some of these shows coming back? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below

Do NOT like the new Ridge on B&B. He looks dirty and scruffy. You need to clean him up or get a new Ridge, What ever happened to the old Ridge?
