‘Justified’ season 5: Timothy Olyphant, a crow highlight new poster

If we were to quote one of the editions of the George R.R. Martin – A Song of Ice and Fire series, then we would call the fifth season of “Justified” “A Feast for Crows” … or in this case Crowes. While it has at times been subtle, the folks over at FX have made it pretty clear that one of the major focuses for the episodes ahead is going to be the dangerous Crowe family, led by Michael Rappaport’s character of Dale Crowe Jr..

What makes the new poster for the season (premiering on January 7) so darn effective is mostly that it doesn’t just throw a crow in your face. Instead, the reference is subtle, and unless you’ve read up about the story for this season in advance, you probably would not make too much about the bird in the corner. Instead, your focus here is going to be on Timothy Olyphant’s character of Raylan Givens, once again sporting the signature hat and with his badge in full view.

So when are you going to start to see the impact of the Crowe family during the new season? Let’s just say that their impact is going to be felt pretty early. They will be a part of the premiere; as a matter of fact, there were scenes in this episode filmed in Florida to make the setting of the Crowe gator farm feel that much more authentic. What will be nice with that is the opportunity to actually see how Raylan functions in an environment different from his typical home base.
