‘Psych’ season 8 promo: This is what waiting feels like

“Psych” fans, the good news is that you have now officially made it past the Musical that aired earlier this year. The bad news? You still have to wait until Wednesday, January 8 for season 8 to be here. It’s not an excruciatingly long wait by any means, but we have a feeling that it’s going to feel a whole lot longer when you have to sit there on Christmas Day and listen to your great-uncle’s story about going grocery shopping and learning that they stopped carrying his favorite peanut butter.

The promo below almost perfectly emulates that sort of feeling, as it features clips of Shawn and Gus in slow motion to serve as a sort of visual reminder as to just how long the wait for more episodes is going to feel. Sadly, there’s not too much in here that you can be extremely excited about when it comes to some of the specific storylines; but, you know that there will be fun stuff. There always is.

One thing that we are pretty pleased with? That there is no language anywhere that this is going to be the final season of the show. Given how long that USA has had this show on the air, we do feel like they do owe it to us to a certain extent to let us know in advance if the show is ending. This is something that we knew was coming with the network’s two other long-running series in “Monk” and “Burn Notice,” and it wouldn’t hurt to have something similar here.
