‘The Tomorrow People’ spoilers: Meet the Founder’s daughter!
While we were led to believe pretty early on during this season of “The Tomorrow People” that the Big Bad was none other than Jedikiah, we since realized that there is a much bigger fish to fry named the Founder. He is someone much more complicated, as someone with abilities trying to take out others.
Is there more to this character’s story than we know right now? It definitely seems like it, based on some of the latest news. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Serinda Swan is set to appear on one of the show’s upcoming new episodes. Specifically, she is playing the role of the Founder’s daughter Cassandra “Cassie” Smythe, a woman who is among one of the most powerful people with powers on the planet. She also becomes the second person that Stephen forms some sort of special “connection” with, after he previously felt such a thing with Peyton List’s character of Cara.
But, there is something greater here with this relationship than first meets the eye. The Cassie character has interesting ties with her father, and these may help Stephen to start to figure out just what the endgame for the Founder really is both when it comes to The Tomorrow People and everyone else in humankind. Is she a possible love interest? Sure, but we imagine that the more interesting aspect of this role is figuring out whether or not she is using her connection more as a strategy for manipulation. While Robbie Amell may look like he’s 25, this character is technically a high school student who is immature when it comes to women.
