MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 4 spoilers: What we know about Jenna Hamilton’s next chapter
Tonight, you are going to get a chance to see the end of Jenna Hamilton’s journey leading up to prom on “Awkward” season 3 … but then, her famous blog is going to dark for a little while, as the producers and folks over at MTV have to start up production again on another batch of episodes to air next year. Will season 4 be the end for the show? Personally, we’d prefer for that to be the case, unless you somehow find a way to move all of the important people into college. We never like to see high school stories last too long, and you want to go out a winner.
But, there will be more time to talk about that in the future. For now, we want to put the focus mostly on some of the stuff that we know you can expect when the show does return to the air.
1. There is a new boss (or bosses) in town – Lauren Iungerich was responsible for both creating the series and running it for the first three seasons; unfortunately, though, she is now focusing on other projects and there is a new pair of sheriffs in town: Chris Alberghini and Mike Chessler. Admittedly, we’re terrified whenever a comedy changes hands, since there is a very specific tone that is hard to emulate. But, we’ll give these new guys a chance to impress us, and hopefully they will.
2. There will be a long episode order again – Just like with season 3, there are going to be 20 episodes that make up the new season. While MTV has not made anything official just yet, we would personally expect that it will be divided up again between the spring and the fall in order to give everyone something to look forward to.
3. The casting process is already underway – While we cannot say much more than that, at least the show is already starting to get the ball rolling in terms of making sure the right people are on board to turn this into something as funny and earnest as it has been so far.

I guess, after staying out all night long after prom, Ming’s parents shipped her off somewhere more militant?
