‘Downton Abbey’ season 4: Michelle Dockery gets ridiculous, plays ring toss (video)
We knew already that Michelle Dockery could act with the best of them, but who knew that she was quite so willing to wear a giant pair of antlers on her head. After watching the video below from “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” we are starting to understand a little bit more as to why most British people probably find American television to be somewhat ridiculous.
In trying to summarize what Fallon had Dockery take part in here on his show, it goes somewhat as follows: She was told to don the helmet of antlers, and then take part in a friendly game of ring toss with Jimmy. Early on in the game, we were starting to feel like this was a massive failure from the standpoint of the testing department, since almost every single one of the rings that was tossed really was not going anywhere. However, things started to slowly improve when it comes to the end, but we won’t spoil it for those of you who want to remain legitimately surprised by what you see in the clip.
“Downton Abbey” season 4 is set to air on PBS Sunday, January 5, which is precisely why so many of the actors are all making appearances on various talk shows now. They realize that due to the holidays, there are not going to be that many opportunities for them to make the talk show circuit. They have to strike while the iron is hot, and they are certainly doing so now with the American tour. Luckily, all of this is coming following a big week for the show, where it was nominated for multiple Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Without giving anything away, we can tease for you that this is a great season for Dockery, as Mary goes through all sorts of dramatic life changes following the death of Matthew. So long as you love what has happened on the show so far, you will probably not be disappointed.
