‘The Carrie Diaries’ season 2, episode 8 preview: ‘A Carrie little Christmas’
“The Carrie Diaries” still has a few more stories to tell this year, and on Friday night, you’re going to get an opportunity to see many of them through the lens of what is the holiday season. This is the first time for the show to venture into the holiday territory, and there is going to be quite a bit going on, including a few developments (as seen in the promo below) that remind us that the 1980s were a very different time when it comes to equality and a few other subjects.
This episode is entitled “The Second Time Around,” and the full synopsis from The CW gives a pretty good idea as to what to expect:
“Carrie (AnnaSophia Robb) is delighted when she gets the chance to interview the CEO of Bongo Jeans — but the pressure is on when Larissa (Freema Agyeman) tells Carrie that this is her last chance to land a piece in Interview magazine. Mouse (Ellen Wong) gets some news that drives an unexpected wedge between her and West (guest star RJ Brown), and Sebastian’s (Austin Butler) father (guest star Terry Serpico) delivers other news that could forever change Sebastian and Carrie’s relationship. Elsewhere, Walt (Brendan Dooling) finds a surprising father figure in Tom (Matt Letscher), and Maggie (Katie Findlay) tries to muster the courage to tell her dad the truth about the last few months.”
So why in the world is the show still airing throughout part of the holiday season? The simple reason for that is due to The CW’s own desire to open up Friday night to other shows starting soon. They have “Hart of Dixie” and “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” anchoring the timeslots in the spring, and they need to make sure that this lineup has its own chance to shine.
