‘Masters of Sex’ finale spoilers: Watch Virginia wish Bill ‘luck’ … extremely awkwardly

There are so many different ways in which the “Masters of Sex” sneak peek below from Sunday’s finale is awkward, but most of it just comes from the very root of what is going on: You have Dr. Bill Masters doing a presentation about a study that Virginia Johnson was instrumental in, and Virginia is no longer a part of it because of the way in which the romantic feelings that were there for Bill started to corrupt everything.

Now, we’re left with the uncomfortable situation of having to watch Virginia wish Bill luck on something that she (at least in theory) realizes that she really should have been a part of. Not only that, but she chose to wish him luck on the baby he is having with Libby. This is when the scene ends, at least after Virginia says that she’s not going to be in attendance at the big event … though we know that she is still going to be a part of a certain video.

But how long is it before Libby starts to really confront her husband about some of what is going on here? She’s not an idiot, and she’s picked up on some of the hints that are out there, including the long hours and the lack of a relationship now between Bill and Virginia. It’s almost like it is the situation that has danced her mind for a few weeks now, but she is still afraid to put into words or believe. If there is an episode for things to come to a head, though, this is it. Otherwise, you’re going to be waiting for quite a long time until there are some answers.
