ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 3, episode 11 spoilers: Show EP on Jake’s big move

Let’s start this article out here with the obvious: There are spoilers ahead! So if you watched last night’s “Scandal” and are okay with everything that is going to be coming up from here on out. Keep reading. Otherwise, be prepared to take off in the other direction until you’ve actually watched the episode.

While there were a number of different shockers that took place over the course of the hour, one of the biggest ones came in the form of seeing Jake take over B6-13, effectively kicking Olivia’s father Rowan to the curb after working so hard to ensure that this operation ran smoothly over the years. This was a man who temporarily let his guard down just enough so that someone with an understanding of how he operates could swoop in and seize control.

Clearly, this is what is going to put many of the characters in a very awkward position for the rest of the season. While it is unclear just how much B6-13 is going to be included the rest of the way, executive producer Betsy Beers told TVLine that she is really hoping for as much of it as possible:

“As a fan, I found the interaction of these guys — including Huck and Jake’s relationship, especially in these last few episodes — to be fascinating.”

One other aspect of this that Beers is looking forward to exploring is just what happens when Olivia eventually finds out what Jake is up to now in his new post. While he seemingly said goodbye to her at the end of this past episode, you have to know that this is not going to be the end, right? It would not be a Shonda Rhimes series if she were to just show us something, and then never touch on it again when there are so many great story possibilities.
