‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 7: Starting the conversation on the (likely) final chapter

More news -On Tuesday night, “Sons of Anarchy” is going to wrap up its sixth season; but before we come to talking about the finale, why not start the conversation about what is coming up down the road and what will likely begin in the writers room early next year for season 7, with filming starting to take place at first in late spring / early summer. While you can probably assume Jax Teller will be around based on the sole fact that this is his story, there’s really no guarantee about anyone else at this point.

While there will probably be a few more details revealed about the story a little later tonight, for now take a look at some of the news that is already out there.

1. It will (most likely) be the end of the series – Creator Kurt Sutter has said already that the show is going to come to a close, pending some sort of twist during the writing process that requires him to have extra episodes. For now, it’s better to just assume that this will be like every other season in terms of episode count.

2. It’s not the end of the SAMCRO story – At some point a year or more after the show’s end, Sutter has expressed an interest in going back and telling a prequel story. He just doesn’t have an interest in diving right in without getting a little bit of distance from his original show first.

3. The story descends further into madness – With every season comes more and more complexity, at least when it comes to the characters and their relationships. While this won’t be confirmed for some time, it would be a bigger shocker than Lee Toric’s death for season 7 to show up with a bunch of episodes only running an hour long. Expect some more lengthy ones, which we know most diehard fans appreciate.
