‘American Horror Story: Coven’ spoilers: Lily Rabe opens up about Stevie Nicks appearance
When “American Horror Story: Coven” picks up with new episodes early next year to finish off the season, one of the stories that you are going to see front and center is the arrival of Stevie Nicks playing … Stevie Nicks. As some sort of trick by Fiona’s part on Misty Day, the Fleetwood Mac rocker is actually going to appear as herself during two episodes of the show.
For Lily Rabe, there is probably no more entertaining story for her to do at this point than this. While it felt like Misty was an afterthought at times early this season, the suspicion about her as the Supreme has led to there being a major increase in her story. Speaking to E! News, she was of course coy on just how Nicks is going to be impacting her character’s story in the long-term, but she did tease that there would at least be some fun that comes out of her appearance:
“There’s singing and there’s dancing and there’s musical things that happen. I might be doing some shawl spinning.”
Does this mean that there is some sort of crazy musical number? If it’s in the context of the show, we don’t mind it; but, we really don’t think we’re in the mood for a reprise of that “The Name Game” performance from “Asylum” that some people seemed to either really love or really hate.
Rabe also told the website that Nicks was not only generous when it comes to her time; she also was kind enough to share something that she actually brought with her as a memory of her making hit after hit:
“She brought me this amazing black velvet jacket and lace skirt from her early Fleetwood Mac days. It’s great sort of witch appropriate gear.”
If you remember, one of the major reasons for Misty’s Stevie obsession is that she feels like she is some sort of witch herself, and that the two have some sort of deep connection.
