‘The Mentalist’ season 6, episode 10: Will football delay start time? Also, new sneak peek!

Green Thumb -Let us start this article on “The Mentalist” season 6 with some good news: Tonight, you are not going to have to worry about the show being pushed back thanks to NFL football. Due to there being no afternoon game playing on CBS nationally, the show will begin in most markets at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time. Given that some of you had to wait until 10:50 last week to see “My Blue Heaven,” you can probably see this as a win pretty easily. (Now if you watch Fox, delays are possibly there in theory … but unlikely.)

So now, we’ll move forward and share a sneak peek that really provides the answer to one basic question: How in the world did the FBI convince Patrick Jane to work for them? We’re actually somewhat surprised that it took them this long to figure out that if they find a way to inconvenience Lisbon, Jane will play ball. While there is little doubt that Jane wants to do things on “his terms,” he also cares for his former partner. Therefore, when he hears that she is basically being used as a pawn to ensure that he helps on a case, and is being held against her will, he finally gives in.

But what should be nice to see here for all Jane / Lisbon fans is that the classic rapport between the two of them is still there. The only thing that you really have to question is whether or not she is that interested in being there full-time. She rather likes her life in Washington now and the relationships that she has made there, and while she likes Jane, that may not be enough to keep her there. This will be one of the first major tests of the two’s new relationship, and also a sign to see if there could ever be anything romantic between the two of them. (There is another possible love interest in Kim Fischer that also must be considered.)

If you were in Jane’s shoes, would you do the same thing and suddenly decide to give in to the FBI? Share below, and click here to see another sneak peek from this episode that focuses more on Jane in action.
