‘American Horror Story: Coven’ episode 9 preview: Cordelia’s attacker revealed and more

Paulson -Have you been wondering just who caused Cordelia to be stricken blind on “American Horror Story: Coven” earlier this season? Well, if the latest synopsis from FX is any indication, you are going to be getting some answers coming up in a week. This episode is entitled “Head,” and there is going to be all sorts of chaos that really rains down here from start to finish.

Let’s begin with what is the biggest surprise to us, and that is the decision by FX to actually give away anything at all in the synopsis. This is not something that they have been particularly keen on doing as of late, and just for them to go this far with it is something that we will chalk up as a win. Now, check it out below:

“Cordelia’s attacker is revealed. Fiona looks to form an alliance with Marie Laveau. Nan learns a disturbing truth about Luke’s past.”

Does this mean more screen time for Nan? Hooray! We’re already celebrating that from one of the series’ unsung heroes since we can never get enough of Jamie Brewer (and her love story with Luke is the best part of the show for us). But what we’re laughing at in some ways right now is the idea of Fiona actually thinking that Laveau is going to have any interest at all in working with her. At this point, we’d almost assume that Angela Bassett’s character would be more interested in shooting herself with a silver bullet then teaming up with the coven. This woman has been nothing but horrible to her for years, and but when faced with a witch hunter, people will turn to anyone for help… even their enemies.

There are also a few other elements teased in the promo below, including some more drama from the “dead” and Cordelia realizing just how great it feels to wake up and be able to actually see again.

What do you want to see on “Head” next week, and is this season starting to turn around for you? (Personally, we still feel like it’s ventured too much into being a witchy “True Blood.”) Click here to read our full review of tonight’s episode, and we will have more throughout the week.
