ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6: Stana Katic hoping for more of Senator Bracken soon

The latest -Castle” has given us its fair share of villains over the years, but there are really only a select few that are worthy of being considered hugely significant to the course of the series. One of these said people is Senator Bracken, Jack Coleman’s evil politician who is responsible for the death of Beckett’s mother. He made some scattered appearances throughout last season as Beckett was forced to confront her past; however, he has yet to turn up in season 6.

Is that going to change soon? Right now, the best answer to that is “maybe.” He will be back eventually, but the two main factors in his return are Coleman’s availability and making sure that there is the right story to tell with the character. One person who is making it very clear that she wants to see the story resolved is Stana Katic, who said the following to TV Guide about the importance of wrapping it up right:

“They did a really nice job of developing this ‘sleeping dragon’ story, and [the end] of that should be done with justice to all of the years that they spent developing that.”

The big stories that we think will be tackled this year are the return of Castle’s father Jackson Hunt (already confirmed), and also presumably more wedding planning for Castle and Beckett, especially given that they are really not that far along in the process just yet. There is another dangling carrot out there similar to Bracken in 3XK, and while we just saw the new story form in “Disciple,” there is no confirmation that it will be resolved later this season. We’d assume that it would at least be addressed again, though, at least given the effort that has been put into building it up.

When do you think Bracken should return on “Castle,” and could you imagine a similarly-awkward position to what we saw from him last night, where Beckett actually had to protect him? Share some of your thoughts below!
