‘House of Lies’ season 3 teaser: Kristen Bell, Don Cheadle do the dance

January 12 is turning out to be a pretty important day when it comes to premium cable TV. This is the day that HBO is launching its all-new lineup fronted by “True Detective,” and this is also where you are going to have an opportunity to see Showtime return with “House of Lies,” “Californication,” and also “Shameless.”

But for this article, let’s focus primarily on the series starring Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell. So far over the course of the show’s run, we have seen these two go back-and-forth on the subject of everything from romance to business back to romance again. Bell’s Jeanie even told Marty during the season 2 finale that she “loved” him. This is one of the more interesting “will they or won’t they?” couples on all of television, mostly because neither one of them is particularly good at being romantic. They’re better at each getting their way through their own selfish actions.

But the first teaser for the show below (via The Hollywood Reporter) features the two doing some sort of complicated dance, which is obviously some sort of extended metaphor for what their relationship has become. They care, but they also tend to prioritize other things in their life so much more than each other.

We just hope that this time around, the show starts strong from the get-go. The second half of season 2 was pretty strong, but it took a while to get there. Plus, we’ll continue to give props to the show if Cheadle finds a way to get some more of his famous friends to make a few cameo appearances here and there. The possibility of these always increases the excitement factor to another level.
