‘The Walking Dead’ season 4 spoilers: Will Daryl, Carol be reunited in episode 9, sometime later?
Given that we just finished up an episode of “The Walking Dead” that featured a number of shocking deaths, some likely deaths, the dissolution of the prison community, and also plenty of emotional carnage, it has to feel understandable that we would sit here and inevitably not think much about Daryl learning the truth about Carol’s exit. Was Norman Reedus’ character upset about Rick’s move? It seemed like it, but Rick almost was bailed out of the fallout of this by having to deal with something much worse in the arrival of The Governor. Had that not happened, this could have turned into a much bigger event.
You may remember from earlier scoops that we will see Melissa McBride again at some point, but the question to this is when? There are eight episodes before season 4 comes to a close, so might we see Carol before then? Showrunner Scott Gimple isn’t saying, but he did tell The Hollywood Reporter that she could surface at almost any time:
“She’s going to appear sooner or later, but I can’t say much. There is a bit of time from when we saw Merle (Michael Rooker) on the roof in Atlanta and when he rejoined the story. It could be a bit but could be a long bit, but she will return at some point. We might have flying cars at that point, but she will return.”
Hearing this alone is nice validation that at least the character is probably not going to die out there on her own … which is a very easy assumption to make, given that she doesn’t have any real allies, and survival skills only go so far when you are staring in the face of a zombie horde.
There are some other new faces that you will meet early on in the second half of this season, as well, including Michael Cudlitz in the role of Abraham. These new faces may help to compensate the loss of Hershel and The Governor, and also help to somewhat ease the pain of Carol’s temporary exit.
