‘The Blacklist’ episode 10 spoilers: Exec explains Reddington’s current trust issue

The Blacklist logo any seasonEvery major character on “The Blacklist” (or at least every major one save for Tom) is in some sort of trouble heading into next week’s midseason finale, and it is not particularly difficult at all to figure out why: They are being tormented. Anslo Garrick is the dictionary definition for “bad guy.” He has an axe to grind with Raymond Reddington, and is going to do whatever it takes to ensure that he gets what he wants.

Is there really any ally at all for Red at this point? While the agency is surely not going to want to help him, there is still a sense of obligation to. Therefore, expect to see more of Elizabeth Keen working to try to make sure that Red will stay safe, and the man at the center of all this still trying to latch onto her. For more, take a look at what executive producer John Eisendrath said to TV Guide:

“Who can [Red] rely on besides Elizabeth Keen? He’ll have to work out whether or not he can come to trust anyone again because he suspects that someone within the FBI or government turned against him to give Anslo Garrick information to find him in the black site.”

But who is the rogue agent? This may not even be a question that is answered in the finale, just like we will likely be kept waiting to find out whether or not Red is actually Liz’s father. (He clearly has some sort of long-standing connection to her.) The funny and yet brilliant thing about this show is that usually, we get very annoyed when someone chooses to dangle a carrot in front of our faces like they are. But they have somehow figured out a way to keep these questions out there, and not make us upset over it. (Some of that may be because we don’t really want to know the truth about Red, mostly because we’ll smash something if it’s the obvious answer.)
