‘Survivor: Blood vs. Water’ preview: Laura Morett arrives to Redemption Island (again)
On Wednesday’s “Survivor: Blood vs. Water” episode, we are going to see what apparently looks to be one of the more lopsided duels of the entire season so far. You have a competition that requires at least a little bit of speed and stamina, and that really just means one thing: Tina Wesson is in trouble, and Laura Morett is likely to join Vytas Baskauskas as residents of Redemption Island for a little while longer.
The irony that comes with Ciera Eastin decided to vote her own mother out of the game is that we have no doubt that Laura could beat her in a duel; not only that, but we are pretty sure that she could beat almost anyone out there. These competitions tend to reward athletic females with focus more so than the beefy men, mostly because having a lighter body weight means that you have an easier time doing some of the balance-oriented tasks. Not only that, but in a situation where two people stay on Redemption Island for a while, all you really have to do is just keep yourself from being in last place until the competition that will actually allow you to re-enter the game again.
Really, the one thing that Laura and Vytas can collectively hope for (provided that they beat Tina, which they seem primed to do) is that Monica Culpepper stays in the game for as long as possible. While we think that Tyson Apostol could be a threat there, she has shown the biggest aptitude at some of the various challenges that have been thrown her way so far. Plus, Tyson is still injured, and hasn’t won an individual immunity to this point in the game.
We wonder why CBS chooses to continually show us previews of Redemption Island, since seeing who leaves the game is one of the most interesting parts of the episode. Then again, we’ll take whatever we can get.
