‘The X Factor’ UK: One Direction performs ‘Story of My Life,’ more on ‘Good Morning America’
For many people out there, Tuesday feels a little bit more like a Friday, so with that in mind, why not enjoy a “Good Morning America” concert in Central Park? The iconic New York City locale played host this morning to the most popular boyband in the world in One Direction, and they managed to get quite a bit of screen time in the process, performing such songs as “Story of My Life” and also “Best Song Ever” from their concert movie earlier this year.
What was somewhat interesting about this entire concert event (which seemed to be a very chilly one) was just how it really symbolizes the evolution of One Direction as a group. Years ago after they wrapped up “The X Factor” UK, their sounds with “What Makes you Beautiful” was very teen-oriented and straight-down-the-middle pop music. Now, they are in the middle of what seems to be the folk-rock craze that started off with Mumford & Sons earlier this year.
This performance encompasses what has been an insane past five days for the group, who probably need a long nap at this point. Harry, Louis, Niall, Zayn, and Liam started off the madness last Thursday, where they performed on “The X Factor” USA in Los Angeles. From there, they taped a performance at some point for the British version of the singing competition in London, and then made their way back to Los Angeles for the American Music Awards on Sunday. Tuesday morning, “Good Morning America’s” concert was held at a time in which they would have been fast asleep if they were still on the West Coast, so we don’t know what sort of state their internal clocks must have been like at the time of these performances.
What do you think about One Direction’s “GMA” set this morning, and what do you imagine was the larger problem for them: The little sleep, the cold weather, or the fact that there seemed to be a few sound problems? Share your take on the videos with a comment in the box below.
