‘The Blacklist’ episode 10 preview: Will Raymond Reddington survive fall finale?

Is there a way that we are going to see Raymond Reddington make it out of next week’s episode of “The Blacklist” alive? It’s a compelling question, but one that we don’t have a full answer to at the moment. His life definitely looks to be hanging in the balance based on the promo below, as he has to figure out if there is a way that he can convince Ressler to actually let him offer himself up to Anslo Garrick, and ensure that a certain someone else remains safe in the process.

That “someone else” is none other than Elizabeth Keen, and this episode could therefore touch more on what the connection between these two is … even if he does not offer it up completely. The synopsis first of all does not suggest that good things are coming around the corner for him:

“Liz (Megan Boone) infiltrates the blacksite and disarms the signal jammers to call in backup but runs into trouble along the way. The fate of Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) hangs in the balance as Red (James Spader) tries to bargain with Anslo Garrick (Richie Coster). Meanwhile, Tom (Ryan Eggold) becomes increasingly worried about Liz’ situation and the fate of Red is unknown.”

But will Red really pay the piper for everything that he has done? It’s a difficult question to answer, but we doubt it. After all, there would not be much of a show if the biggest character in it dies. But, even with life becomes consequence, and what transpires as a result of this battle between Garrick and him is the more interesting question. This will set the stage for what will hopefully be an excellent arc of the show in the spring, and we can only hope that the show keeps itself somewhat serialized along the way. That is when its true greatness shines rather than random bad guys every week who have no connection to us as viewers.
