‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ preview: Porsha Stewart’s surprising therapy revelation
In what seems almost better suited for a lecture on Sigmund Freud than a “Real Housewives of Atlanta” episode, we are getting set on Sunday night’s new episode to see a rather shocking admission from the world of Porsha Stewart: She may have been more attracted to Kordell because she viewed him as a sort of perverse father figure … at least according to her therapist.
We’re not here to sit here and tell you whether or not this therapist’s claims are legitimate or not, but it’s something that definitely seemed to startle her on some level. The therapist tells her that because she had no control on almost anything that was going on in the context of the relationship, she is basically setting herself up to be completely and totally cut off in the end. To him, the therapist argued, she may have been nothing more than the hired help since she was not really involved in anything important in the couple’s life together.
So where is this story going to go from here? Hopefully, in a more positive direction. There have already been a handful of episodes this season, and when it comes to Porsha, all of them so far have been about the same. On some level, we definitely understand it, and the importance for us to see what she is really suffering and going through. But when the dust settles, we would be in serious downer mode if we are forced for the rest of the season to sit here and do nothing but watch how badly this woman is tormented time and time again. The only place that this is going to take us as a viewer is one of complete despair for her … especially since it has been made pretty clear already that Kordell has no plans to change.
