‘Justified’ season 5 spoilers: Patton Oswalt’s Constable Bob to return
Is there any finer guest star in the world than Patton Oswalt? We can’t really think of one. He always makes every show that he is in better on some level; not only that, but he’s shown over the years that he can be more than just a really funny guy. He can also do a few scenes here and there in drama, even if comedy is his first love.
With all of this in mind, the following “Justified” news is both short and sweet: You will see the character again on season 5 of the FX series. This news was confirmed this week by TVLine, though there are few details on what his reprisal will be. The benefits to seeing the character stem from in some ways his own behavior, and that he presents such a different energy than Raylan does. Having tow different actors bouncing off each other always makes for fun TV, especially when they are two that are as committed to the scenes as these guys are.
FX announced recently that the show is coming back for a January 7 premiere date, which means that you’re not going to be forced into sitting around and waiting for too horrendously long in order to see the show back around again. This also means that you’re not going to have a gaping hole left in the schedule for long after the end of “Sons of Anarchy” ends for the year. “Justified’s” the anchor of a early 2014 schedule that also includes the second half of “American Horror Story: Coven,” and the second year of the sensational “The Americans” a little later in the year.
So now, the waiting game begins. Just think back at all of the other recent guest spots from Patton, whether it be “Parks and Recreation” or even his very recent stint this week as the hated Fire Marshall on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”
