‘The Bachelor’ to air three Juan Pablo Galavis-related specials before Sean Lowe’s wedding

Juan Pablo -Obviously, ABC has some serious holes to fill in their schedule on Sunday nights, so they’ve decided that rather than actually be creative and bring in some new shows (like a second season for a beloved “Whodunnit?”), they are instead going to just load up on as much stuff related to “The Bachelor” as humanly possible … at least for now.

As first confirmed by Entertainment Weekly, the first three Sundays of the month are going to contain some sort of programming related to Juan Pablo Galavis’ season of the show, which will give you an opportunity to see more of the show’s production and also some of the women who are going out of their way and putting their lives on hold to try and make this guy their own forever.

Here are a few details to each one of these specials, which you may or may not be inclined to watch based on how disinterested you are with the rest of the TV lineup on the night.

January 5 – “The Bachelor: Countdown to Juan Pablo.” To us, this is probably the most interesting one in that it takes you into his life in Miami, working and spending time with his daughter Camila. You didn’t get to see the guy much during Desiree Hartsock’s season, so this one makes sense. Plus, you get a better chance to know some of the women before the rest of the new season starts.

January 12 – “The Bachelor: Behind the Scenes.” This feels somewhat more interesting as a DVD extra than a regular special, since we doubt that you are really being taken behind the scenes and talking about some of the stuff that really goes on when shooting reality shows. We’re talking about stuff like how interviews are designed to extract information from you, how you spend a good percentage of your day waiting around, and how you are even at times back in school again when it comes to when you’re allowed to talk about specific subjects.

January 19 – “The Bachelor: Bachelor Love Stories.” This seems like a repetitive title. Anyway, this special will chronicle some of the more successful couples on the show, which could make it a pretty short special if you are talking about the ones still around. You will get to see Trista & Ryan Sutter’s 10-year anniversary, though, which should be nice. The only other married couple as of right now from the franchise is Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum, even if Sean Lowe is heading in that direction on January 26.

All of these specials will mostly fulfill a purpose in making sure that Sundays don’t suffer without “Once Upon a Time” on until after all of the February insanity ends with the Grammys, the Oscars, and the Super Bowl all taking place.
