‘Girls’ season 3 trailer: Lena Dunham, Allison Williams’ latest antics and more
On this upcoming third season of “Girls,” Marnie, Hannah, Jessa, and Shoshanna are going to be going through some stuff. Seriously, that may be the best way to describe what is going to be coming up. This is the show that loves and hates hipsters at the same time, but also has a heavy hipster following because they feel like they can identify with something. This is also a show that had a very season that was loved by most and hated by some, and then a second season that was loved by some (as in, we loved it) and hated by most other people.
So where does the show choose to go from here for its upcoming third season? After taking so many creative risks and trying to show the many dimensions of Hannah’s twisted mind, including her very real struggle with obsessive-compulsive disorder, season 3 brings it back somewhat to the show’s roots. Jessa is back, and she will be spending time with the other three lead characters. You’re also going to see guys Ray and Adam, and while Charlie will be gone, Marnie will have plenty of other stuff to do.
There is also a much-hyped vacation that is going to be taking place during the season to Long Island, which is going to be a much less-glamorous trip than what we actually tend to see from most other TV stars. This is basically the sort of trip that real people with little money would take, and they would have to try and find a way to get us in trouble.
“Girls” may not necessarily be a huge success for HBO in terms of live ratings, but it finds a number of other ways to draw big audiences. It has a huge internet following, and there are multiple other ways these days for the premium cable network to get people to view their shows. As a matter of fact, we are now at a time when over half of each episode’s viewers typically come after it first airs on TV, whether you are talking about repeats or views via the HBO GO app or various on-demand services.
