‘Sons of Anarchy’: Charlie Hunnam approves Jamie Dornan in ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’
Granted, there is no real scenario in which Jamie Dornan actually needs the approval of Charlie Hunnam for the upcoming “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie. After all, it was originally the “Sons of Anarchy” star’s role, but he chose to withdraw at the last minute for a variety of different rumored reasons.
But, nonetheless, we now have the first official comment from Hunnam about the former “Once Upon a Time” star landing the role as Christian Grey. Speaking on-camera to TMZ, Hunnam gave a vote of confidence to Dornam … though he at the same time admitted that he is not exactly familiar with his body of work:
“I’m sure he’ll do a great job, I don’t really know his work, but I know Sam, the director, is amazing. She has fantastic taste, so I’m sure he’ll do a great job. … I’m sure she made a great choice.”
Even though Charlie is no longer a part of this franchise, he still has several other movie roles coming up. He was just a part of “Pacific Rim,” and while he anticipates going home for a brief break pretty soon, he will be back to work soon after that. He also has “Sons of Anarchy’s” final season to shoot next year … or at least what we anticipate being the final season, unless there is some sort of last-second switch to change things up. While he has committed himself in playing Jax Teller for however long that Kurt Sutter is looking to keep the show on the air, he is looking forward to moving forward and playing a different array of roles.
