NBC’s ‘The Voice’ preview: iTunes favors James Wolpert, Cole Vosbury; is Jacquie Lee in trouble?

Jacquie Lee -Every week on “The Voice,” we try to look at the upcoming results show using something that is a pretty strong indicator of whether or not someone survives: iTunes sales! This may not be the only indicator, we can at least use this to figure out who could last for a while, and who is probably going to be leaving the competition tonight.

The good news – Is a Cole Vosbury – Matthew Schuler finale really the most-likely scenario? These two are the only artists in the top 20 as of this writing, but neither one of them is in the top ten. This suggests that once again, Blake Shelton does have a chance at winning this competition with a contestant that was originally on Team Cee Lo Green.

Also, you can probably expect to see James Wolpert, Caroline Pennell, Tessanne Chin, and Ray Boudreaux to be declared safe. While Will Champlin is just out of the top 40 right now, he’s probably still doing enough in order to ensure that he is safe.

In trouble  – The person who seems to be a lock to leave right now is Austin Jenckes. Even though he’s on Team Blake, he did not have the support at all of the iTunes voters. The only real hope that he is has if there some diehard Blake fans who rally behind and vote to keep him alive here. He’ll likely be in the bottom three with Kat Robichaud and Jacquie Lee, and the latter leaving would be a shock and a disappointment. While her take on “Clarity” was not perfect, her overall body of work should be appreciated much more than some people who actually have better iTunes sales this week.

If there was no flash vote, we’d say that Austin and Kat were for sure out the door. Kat just doesn’t seem to be connecting for whatever reason with the voting public.

If you want to still support your favorite artist, go vote on iTunes! There is still some time to try and work this out. Click here if you want to read our full review of the performance show, and we’ll have the official results tonight.
