‘American Idol’ winner Candice Glover’s single ‘Cried’ hits radio

Take a look -Finally, we have some great news to share when it comes to “American Idol” winner Candice Glover: Her new single has finally hit radio! While you may be waiting until November 26 in order to actually check out “Cried” on iTunes, the song is actually playing on radio stations around the United States now. What does that mean? Well, you know what to do: Go request it!

This big news follows what has at times been a crazy journey for Candice, whose debut album “Music Speaks” was originally going to be out this year prior to its move to February 18. There’s never really been any question about her voice more so than just how the label was looking to manage it after the fact. We just hope that this song really gets an opportunity to find an audience for itself, especially given that we haven’t seen a ton of press for it just.

But, the big positive here in the midst of all the negatives that we could talk about is that Candice is getting an opportunity to get this song out there in time for the holiday season. If nothing else, this means that some people with their iTunes gift cards on December 25 will have something to buy with it. Also, it means that she can have a good shot at making some inroads before stations become inundated with holiday music, and then try to gain a little bit of steam after the fact.

Of course, Candice will almost surely get an opportunity to perform again on “American Idol” this coming season. Even though much of the regime has changed and we have new executive producers and judges on the show, she’ll at least still get an opportunity to see Keith Urban and Ryan Seacrest again. Still, it has to be one of the strangest feelings that a returning winner has had since Lee DeWyze turning up on season 10 and seeing a panel that didn’t have three out of the four judges who were responsible for looking after him.

Once there is a good audio of the song online, we’ll have it for you here. For now, just click here if you want to read some more about the plans for next season.
