‘House of Lies’ season 3 gets involved with real-life gang wars
There was a pretty scary situation that unfolded this week on the set of “House of Lies” season 3, and it revolved around what happens when you sometimes pick a filming location that is actually just as frightening as what you are trying to portray on the show. We’re all about programs trying as hard as possible to be accurate, but this? Let’s just say that even it was a little much.
According to TMZ, rapper T.I., Don Cheadle, and Kristen Bell were shooting a scene for the Showtime comedy at the Nickerson Gardens housing project in South Central Los Angeles, and slowly but surely a crowd assembled of onlookers started to pile on that included some members of a rival gang.
Eventually, things escalated to a point where there was a gunshot fired, but at some point during the chaos the actors and crew members were removed, and filming continued later in a different location. It is not clear if any actors were present at the time of the firing, and there were no injuries. Police were called to the scene, but the gang had dispersed before that time.
This is, unfortunately, the sort of unpredictable behavior that you sometimes get when you are dealing with production in populated areas, but the show will of course go on here for Cheadle and company. “House of Lies” is one of the network’s most-popular comedies, and its third season is going to premiere early next year following up the return of “Shameless.” This is a part of the lineup that the network has had going for it for quite a while now, and it is pretty clear that they have no intentions of changing it.
As for what you can expect from the story this year, T.I.’s appearance is really one of the bigger headlines. Just remember that last time, the show managed to snag Matt Damon. Cheadle has some famous friends, and they could always snag another surprise.
