ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6, episode 9 video: Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion, and the Lanie shocker

Just in case that you haven’t seen any of the teasers for Monday night’s “Castle” season 6 episode yet, what you need to know here is just that there is at least one strange murder taking place, and the victim is someone who easily could be mistaken for a member of the precinct: Lanie. This is not something that you see everyday, especially since the sneak peek video below proves that this is no ordinary murder.

Castle and Beckett show up to see the doppelganger to Tamala Jones’ character displayed like she is some sort of bizarre tableau or trophy, suspended in the air and shown off. The murderer clearly wanted the world, and specifically the precinct, to see just what sort of horrible thing that he’d done.

As Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion’s characters soon realize, there is no apparent connection between the victim and Lanie, which makes what happened here all the stranger. While Beckett tells the master of all things autopsies that she does not have to work this case, she insists on doing so … even if she (understandably) admits that this did have her shaken up for a little while first and foremost. Hopefully, this will all be clearer up earlier in the episode, since otherwise this could be an investigation that takes a heck of a long time to figure out. This is definitely no ordinary one; we at least know that much already. At least this video proves that for an episode of the show airing in the November sweeps, the writers are looking to pull out all of the stops and make this great. We just have to hope now that for the rest of the way, they are able to equal this some. (In case you haven’t heard, one of the ways they will be trying to top this in the new year is by bringing back James Brolin.)
