ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 3, episode 7 preview: Kerry Washington and a key admission

For those of you wondering when Olivia Pope was going to clue in the rest of her Gladiators about Operation Remington, you now have an answer coming your way: She’s going to do it now, and almost without any further hesitation.

In the new sneak peek below from Thursday night’s new “Scandal” season 3 episode, you can see Kerry Washington’s character explain to the crew just how important that it is for her to have their support in trying to figure out why Rowan gave the order to shoot down the plane carrying her mother, and whether or not it was motivated by her mom being on it. She tells them that this is a very pressing, dangerous mission, and not one that they have to take part in. Just remember here that Olivia’s dad is not the kind of guy who is going to great you with smiles and a freshly-baked apple pie; he’s the kind of guy who will kill you and then eat dinner as though nothing ever happened.

Olivia smartly leaves no stone unturned in her discussion with the team, and also makes it pretty darn clear to them that the man who actually received the orders was a pilot by the name of Fitzgerald Grant … now the President. Somehow, they are going to have to find a way to solve this conundrum while also preparing Josie for the rest of her campaign. Two words: Good luck. Most shows would not even dream to pull all of this off, but somehow, “Scandal” is one that can and we have to celebrate that (at least so long as it is pulled off effectively).
