‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ review: Can’t Lisa Vanderpump, Kyle Richards just get along?
Tonight’s “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” episode was basically just a simple lesson in what happens when you put people you really don’t like each other on the same cast, and then desperately try to convince them that they really do like each other and want to be friends. We don’t think that hardly any of these women anymore genuinely seem to enjoy each other’s company anymore. They say that they are friends, and then mock each other so much that you would think that they are jockeying for the favor of someone in high school.
The two biggest guilty parties on here right now are none other than Lisa Vanderpump and Kyle Richards, who seem to both be having way too much of a good time arguing and going at each other time and time again over a variety of little silly things. We get it, already: You two don’t get along, but you want the other one to think that you did. Is Lisa really going to fake fainting at “Dancing with the Stars” for attention? Ugh.
There were a few other ugh moments during this episode too, but also at least a little bit of reality. There are moments when Yolanda Foster is interesting to us so far this year, and Brandi Glanville decided to go on the move this week. (Plus, we spent time with her mom.) There was at least a little less of the “Vanderpump Rules” nonsense this time around, and the new cast members are starting to find their focus. For now, though, Joyce Giraud de Ohoven is a little too much of just a Richards ally and not much else, but with her big personality and utter ridiculousness, Carlton Gebbia has serious potential to be the new cast member to watch.
We feel like every season of this show takes a few weeks for things to get going and for the story to feel a little less rehearsed, and that’s where we think that we are at right now when it comes to this season. There are moments to smile at, but hardly anything to latch onto. Grade: C.
