‘Bones’ season 9, episode 9 preview: Emily Deschanel’s Brennan, jury duty, and a move to Friday

Ready for a little bit of a different side of “Bones” season 9? Well with this, we’re referring to mostly a side that airs on a different night. The show is going to be coming on Friday nights at 8:00 p.m. Eastern in the timeslot that was previously occupied by “MasterChef Junior,” and there could be plenty of opportunities to have some more fun there, and actually keep its ratings pretty level when you consider that it won’t be against “The Voice” or “How I Met Your Mother” anymore.

It also looks like for this move to Friday, “Bones” has prepped what looks to be a VERY fun episode in “The Fury in the Jury,” which basically serves to answer the question of what in the world happens when Brennan is put in a position that she cannot fully control. In this particular instance, that situation is trying to handle jury duty. Take a look first of all at the synopsis, which should give you at least a small idea of the sort of madness that is going to come from this:

“Brennan is a juror in the trial of professional soccer player Peter Kidman (guest star Brandon Quinn), who is accused of murdering his wife. When she concludes that Kidman is not guilty, his best friend — and a key witness in the case — turns up dead. The Jeffersonian team then must work together to uncover the truth.”

As the promo also shows, one of the problems that comes up here will be that Emily Deschanel’s character, for whatever reason, has no interest whatsoever in staying silent during the court case. Instead, she is far more interested in just speaking her mind all the time, and assuming that every question directed at the jury is for whatever reason meant to be guided towards her. All of this is funny stuff, and if you love the show, it’s going to be pretty hard for you to not love this episode.
