NBC’s ‘Community’ season 5 spoilers: When will ‘Breaking Bad’ creator Vince Gilligan appear?
You may have already heard the glorious (but also surprising) news that “Community” will have a visit soon from none other than Vince Gilligan, TV genius and the man behind the massive hit otherwise known as “Breaking Bad.” So with that information out there, we now bring you the following question: When in the world will the man bring his mad scientist levels of genius to Dan Harmon’s crazy universe?
Luckily, Harmon was kind enough to give us that answer himself. Just take a look at the new post on his Twitter account for evidence:
“I’ll tell you this much, before episode 509 of community is over, people are going to know the name ‘Vince Gilligan.'”
Obviously, the clear joke here is that every sane person who loves good TV already has an idea as to who Gilligan is, and probably loves the heck out of what he does (including Harmon). This man is a bona fide TV god at this point, and “Breaking Bad” rose to being one of the greatest TV shows in history based on what they managed to do in that final season.
As for better addressing when Gilligan will appear, let’s just say that given that the show returns on Thursday, January 2 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern, late February is probably what we are looking at here as a window for Vince’s appearance. This comes after Donald Glover has already left the show, but there will still be another “Breaking Bad” performer in Jonathan Banks around. There’s no word on if he will have a scene or two with his former boss, but it would be absolutely fantastic if he did. (“Breaking Bad” spoiler alert!) Being that Mike’s death still stands out to us as the worst moment in the history of the show, and one of the few things that really did not make a whole lot of sense, we would love for there to be some sort of awkward tension for the characters.
