‘Game of Thrones’ season 4: Could Emilia Clarke go from Mother of Dragons to Sarah Connor?

The latest -Emilia Clarke is currently one of the rising stars in Hollywood, and a big reason why is because she has kicked so much butt over on “Game of Thrones.” So with that, isn’t it appropriate that she potentially move over to another major franchise from the film world?

Alan Taylor, who has directed episodes of this show in addition to “Thor: The Dark World,” is being tasked with rebooting the “Terminator” franchise. While we are still not sure that we really need to go back into this world again, she is still reportedly one of the actresses in contention for the Sarah Connor part. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Clarke is on a list of potential auditioners that also includes recent “Community” guest star Brie Larson and Margot Robbie, the former “Pan Am” star who may explode in popularity later this year thanks to “The Wolf of Wall Street.”

This is not the first time that Clarke has been tied to a major movie role, as there were countless rumors at one point surrounding her and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” However, that part ended up going instead to Emily VanCamp from another TV show in “Revenge.” She was also linked to “Fifty Shades of Grey,” but that seems to be more of the internet going crazy rather than any sort of actual interest that all parties involved had in the movie.

As for how Clarke could really swing doing all of this film work and still play Danaerys Targeryan on “Game of Thrones,” the easy answer to that is that the show only films for a small chunk of the year, and her scenes span even less time than that thanks to the show’s enormous cast. If there was ever a need for her to do something else, her schedule could probably be compacted into just a few months at most on the HBO hit, and that leaves her the rest of the year to pursue other things. Many actors on the show are experiencing the same sort of interest elsewhere, including Kit Harrington (Jon Snow) and Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell).

What do you think: Do we really need a “Terminator” reboot in the same way that we apparently needed “RoboCop,” and is Emilia really going to be the right person for this role? Share below, and click here if you want to see the latest “Game of Thrones” season 4 casting update.
