NBC’s ‘The Voice’: Caroline Pennell, Matthew Schuler, Jacquie Lee strong with iTunes sales

The latest -Typically, we only get the opportunity to do one iTunes article a week in relation to “The Voice,” but thanks to the different format this time around, this marks a lovely little opportunity to shake things up a little bit. You could see these figures as spoilers if you want, since they do give you an inkling of who is more likely to stay and who is more likely to leave; but, there are also a pair of other factors to consider in here: Not only are these sales only a part of the equation, but the coaches are also playing a part in who stays and who goes this week.

Typically, the best indicators when it comes to the iTunes are that the outliers. If you’re far ahead of the pack, you’re generally safe for sure; if you infinitely far behind, your goose is cooked.

Who is safe for sure – There are no locks for this group like there is for James Wolpert on Team Adam (read here), since nobody on either Team Christina or Cee Lo managed to firmly get into the top ten. They are more hovering around it. With that being said, Caroline Pennell (Cee Lo), Matthew Schuler (Christina), and Jacquie Lee (Christina) are all so close to #10, and so far ahead of every else, they they are all in good shape.

Who is gone for sure – It has to be Tamara Chauniece and Amber Nicole over on Team Cee Lo. We know that he will have some say in this, but they were at least a hundred spots lower than anyone else on the list. Let this be a lesson for future contestants: Don’t sing either dated disco songs covered a billion times like “I Will Survive,” or songs from someone else from “The Voice” out of your genre like “Wasting All These Tears.”

Everyone else is bundled pretty close together, and for Cee Lo it seems like a lock that Jonny Gray, Caroline, and Kat Robichaud will advance to the next round. Christina is the one with some serious work to do in deciding between Josh Logan, Olivia Henken, and Stephanie Anne Johnson as to who to keep. We’d probably keep Olivia, mostly because with Shelbie Z. in danger on the iTunes charts for Blake, she could really dominate the country vote.
