‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 7 spoilers: Casey Sander returns as Howard’s father-in-law

The latest -Great news for everyone who loves seeing Howard Wolowitz look extremely uncomfortable on “The Big Bang Theory”: A man who intimidates him more than any other is going to be stopping by for an upcoming episode.

According to a report from TVLine, Casey Sander has signed on to appear in the show’s upcoming Thanksgiving-centric episode airing on November 21, which has all of the potential in the world to be both hilarious and awkward. Howard’s father-in-law, a retired cop, is someone who scares the living daylights out of him; and even though the two may share at least a little bit of common ground as we found out with his last appearance, that is not going to be enough to cover up all of the various things that the two don’t have in common.

So what is Howard going to do to try and rectify this difficult situation? Why, he invites the entire gang over for turkey dinner! In a way, this seems perfect given how so many of these people are transplants. We don’t know much about Amy’s family, but Sheldon grew up in the South, Raj is from India, Penny from Nebraska, and Leonard’s mother is probably not even remotely interested in Thanksgiving. Howard and Bernadette are really the only two characters with parents that are both reliable and local, and that makes them the perfect vessel for the rest of the episode to shine.

Personally, we have a ton of hope for this since there have been a number of great Thanksgiving episodes of other shows over the years, and “The Big Bang Theory” has also done wonders with Halloween (all of the Flashes), Christmas (Leonard Nimoy’s DNA), and even New Year’s Eve with the superhero costume party at the comic-book store. These are all worthy reasons to think that they will also find something great to do here.

But in order to not get too far ahead of ourselves, we also have a video here of the next upcoming episode, where you can see Amy finally meet Professor Proton, the target of Sheldon’s longtime admiration (at least until a “shocking” betrayal).
