‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 7, episode 7 video: See Amy meet Professor Proton!

As you may have heard already, “The Big Bang Theory” on Thursday night is going to feature a guest appearance from none other than Bob Newhart, who is reprising his role as the famed Professor Proton. This is a man who was idolized by Dr. Sheldon Cooper for a good percentage of his life, and you can therefore understand just how he would feel if he was to learn that Proton decided to go to anyone other than him among his friends for help on a research project.

Admittedly, there is a good bit of footage in the video below that you have seen before in some other clips, including the arrival of Bill Nye as himself. As a means to get back at Proton and Leonard, Sheldon decides to hire a different “Science Guy,” that way he can hatch some sort of creative plan of his own to embarrass him.

As for some of the new footage, we have some more awkward moments between Proton and Penny, as the “Professor” tries to find out if she has a single grandmother than he can hit on. Meanwhile, there is also a funny quip from Newhart when he meets Amy Farrah Fowler, and realizes that someone actually chose to date Sheldon Cooper without having some sort of shred of insanity. We can only imagine the meeting of the minds that could come from this.

Based on everything that CBS has put out so far, this is the most excited that we have been for a “Big Bang Theory” episode since the one featuring the arrival of the scavenger hunt. We simply hope that this one does not disappoint after having such potential when it comes to its premise. Anytime that you can get together a TV legend and a children’s TV legend in one room deserves an episode worthy of their talent.
