‘Bones’ season 9, episode 7 preview: The differences in Booth, Brennan’s honeymoon style

Is there an art to the way in which you are supposed to enjoy your honeymoon? Based solely on the sneak peek video from Monday night’s “Bones” season 9 episode, it feels like there very well could be.

David Boreanaz’s Booth almost creates a perfect by-the-numbers series of solutions on to how to relax while in Buenos Aires, which starts by being by the water, having a good hat, and drinking a cold beverage. When you think about how hard he and Brennan work at their jobs, it’s understandable that he would get a special amount of enjoyment out of some rest and relaxation.

However, we quickly learn here that Brennan does not feel the same way. As a matter of fact, she finds herself quickly getting bored and in need of something a little bit more interesting to do other than just sitting around and waiting to see what is going to happen next. Booth suggests trying to show her a waterfall, but she responds to that with a very practical answer that is somewhat disgusting, but probably something you don’t really think about unless you are traveling with someone with her level of expertise.

In the end, she tells Booth instead that she wants to show him something that will help to entertain her mind … and we’re already worried for him. We know that sooner or later, these two are going to get themselves involved in a murder investigation that they really have no business doing, but this is just the fun of the show. While it may sound nice in theory to watch the newlyweds sit around the pool for an hour and finally get in some rest, the reality is that this is a show about mysteries. If they are not trying to solve anything, some of the fun is gone.
