‘The Walking Dead’ season 4, episode 4 preview: Andrew Lincoln vs. a mystery behind a door

Andrew Lincoln -How does Rick Grimes recover from what was some pretty shocking news on “The Walking Dead” last week when it comes to Carol being a killer? Apparently, he continues to spend time with her and they go out on a little bit of a mission together.

The sneak peek below is almost entirely without dialogue, and the two visit a home on what has to be a supply run. So what should we particular make note of here? There are a couple of things that stand out from this;

1. Seeing how Carol pretty mercilessly kills a walker that is quickly approaching on her and Rick. What are we supposed to take from this? In just a few seconds Andrew Lincoln’s character goes from protecting Melissa McBride’s character to watching her kill a zombie courtesy of a few stab wounds. This shows the evolution of the Carol character in some ways, but also a possible change in perception of her from Rick’s point of view. This is not the woman that he has seen in his mind for some time, and it’s time to confront that.

2. The mystery of the door opening at the very end, which is something that we are led to believe is something of importance. Who is on the other side? It feels like it can’t be good, since we just saw a zombie come down the stairs and it is not traditionally like humans zombies can party together in perfect harmony. (Though, it would be somewhat entertaining to see them in some sort of campfire circle together singing “Kumbaya” to each other.)

Hopefully within episode 4 of this season, there will be a little more clarification when it comes to the virus sweeping the prison. Has the original evolved, or is this the handiwork of The Governor, who is still floating around out there somewhere? We will find out soon, even if it is not in this episode.
