‘The Amazing Race 23’ preview: Who doesn’t love watching bad singing?

Take a look -For those of you who love your reality TV with a side of public humiliation, we imagine that you are going to absolutely love the episode of “The Amazing Race 23” airing on CBS Sunday night. There is a reason why “American Idol” continues to air all of their bad auditions, and it’s pretty simple: There is so much entertainment that comes in actually trying to watch some bad singers sing.

So for the race, the task seems to be a Roadblock where a team member has to perform a song in another language, and accompanied by a choir. Translation: It’s a chance for people in other countries to laugh at untalented Americans. Leo & Jamal’s attempt is particularly hysterical, mostly because one of them basically sounds like the Afghanimal version of Gaston from “Beauty and the Beast.” It is one of those moments where the guys are probably playing a little too hard to the cameras, but it’s hard to be particularly upset about it since they at least know that the cameras are there. We always appreciate having a ham versus another boring couple team.

In following the Afghanimals, the Ice Queens manage to have an equally-funny moment courtesy of one of them messing up from the beginning, and then sort of song-speaking the rest. This is the sort of thing that someone does at a party when you are super self-conscious and want to look cool, and you instead end up looking even sillier than you would otherwise.

But is either one of these teams (who “married each other” for the season) really going to go that far? We’ve yet to see anything from them that suggests that they are serious contenders. The more likely people to be around at the end of the season are Travis & Nicole, Jason & Amy, and Tim & Marie by the time that this is over. These teams could still survive for a little while, though, given that neither Tim & Danny nor Nicky & Kim has really shown to us that they are all that capable of being consistently good.

Would you be more afraid of doing a singing challenge than something like doing bungee jump? Be sure to share below, and click here if you want to read some more news related to the show.
