‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 6: Kurt Sutter announces ‘The Life and Death of Sam Crow,’ release window

More news -For those of you looking to dive even deeper into the “Sons of Anarchy” mythology, you are going to be getting an opportunity following the very last episode of the series (whenever that is). In case you somehow skimmed over the title of this article and are wondering how that comes about, it’s as follows: Show creator Kurt Sutter is promising (via Twitter) to publish “The Life and Death of Sam Crow” the day after the show’s series finale airs on FX.

As many longtime fans of the show already know, this is a work in “The Life and Times of Sam Crow: How the Sons of Anarchy Lost Their Way” that was written by Jax’s father John Teller, and has been referenced a number of times on the show already. It was basically a guide early on to what Jax needed to do in order to turn the club in something a little more upstanding rather than just a pack of criminals. Unfortunately, those words did not obviously ring true enough in Jax’s mind based on where the man and also the club are today.

While this news is exciting, the only thing up in the air now is the release date. The most likely scenario still seems to be “Sons of Anarchy” taking its last ride in late November or early December of next year, but it would also not surprise us if the final season order is bumped up to 16, and that the show airs in halves with the latter coming in 2015. Sutter himself has already said that he has been given a little bit flexibility in order to end the show on his terms, but he has also said that he expects season 7 to be the swan song. Given that the last thing that he wants to do is continue to run this show until it starts to become tired, we don’t see him suddenly deciding to order a season 8 just because the ratings are still good.
