‘The Originals’ episode 6 preview: Joseph Morgan’s Klaus and a ‘demon child’
“The Originals” on Tuesday aired another new episode that started to really let us figure out one thing: Not everyone is really digging the idea of Klaus as a parent. Heck, we’re starting to even wonder if the baby itself is starting to doubt Klaus’ abilities in that regard.
The title of this episode in “Fruit of the Poisoned Tree” is certainly ominous in the regard of it suggesting that terrible things are on the way, and you can get an even better sense as to what some of these terrible things could be, both related to Klaus and some other characters (in particular Cami) courtesy of the official synopsis via the CW:
“When Klaus (Joseph Morgan) discovers Hayley’s (Phoebe Tonkin) life is being threatened, he goes to extreme lengths to protect her and their unborn baby. Having a difficult time dealing with the tragic events of her past, Cami (Leah Pipes) turns to Father Kieran (guest star Todd Stashwick) for guidance. Feeling as though he can trust no one, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) visits an old friend to seek out some advice, while Davina (Danielle Campbell) takes steps to learn how to control her magic.”
Now that we are a good five episodes into this season, what we are most pleased to report is that for now, “The Originals” is starting to feel more like its own series rather than just an offshoot of “The Vampire Diaries.” We are starting to get to know some of the supporting characters better, and we want to root for them. We even want to root for Klaus in the same sort of way that we did with Walter White at times during “Breaking Bad,” knowing that there is some good in there if we ignore all of the moments that he spends being terrifying and tormenting others. Hopefully, more of that good side is going to come out as we get closer and closer to the end of the season.
