‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ season 6: Dina Manzo confirms return after lengthy absence
Is Bravo going to have a Manzo-free season of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey”? It doesn’t look like it. Instead, they are going to be replacing one member of the Manzo family with another.
After originally departing the show in season 2 and getting involved in a lengthy feud with her sister Caroline, Dina Manzo confirmed today that she will indeed be back for the sixth season with a post on Twitter:
“Well I guess the (hairless) cats out of the bag. Yes I’m back, Unlike the past this time it felt ‘right’~ See you on Bravo my friends.”
During her absence Dina briefly hosted a show on HGTV entitled “Dina’s Party,” and did also make a return appearance on the series in order to defend herself back during season 4. However, that one was brief and not entirely positive. There are a couple of easy reasons why now seems to be the right time for her to come back on the show:
1. Caroline is now gone – If she wants to avoid family feuds, what better way to come back? She also has a built-in ally now in Teresa Giudice, as the two stood up for each other during Dina’s last appearance.
2. The entire cast is changing course – Jacqueline Laurita is also rumored to be leaving the show along with Caroline, and reports are that there are a trio of new people in twins Nicole and Teresa Napolitano and their friend Amber Marchese. Rumor has it that Kathy Wakile will be back, but in more of a recurring “friend of the Housewives” capacity similar to what Camille Grammer had the last time she appeared as a part of the show.
This new season of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” will, if tradition holds, take place during the late spring / early summer. This remains one of the network’s most-popular franchises, even if this past season was in our mind both derivative and disappointing.
What do you think about Dina returning, and do you think that she will be beckoned into the halls of peace on this show? Share below, and we’ll have some more scoop on the season later on during filming.
