‘The Good Wife’ season 5 spoilers: More on that Kalinda – love interest story
Is Kalinda’s love interest finally going to make an appearance tonight on “The Good Wife” season 5? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. While you are going to be seeing all sorts of chaos when it comes to the stories of Alicia and Will, you are still better off being patient if you want any hope at all of checking out what is going to be coming next for Archie Panjabi’s character in the future.
In trying to explain both themselves and their decision-making yet again when it comes to this story, executive producer Robert King makes it clear to Entertainment Weekly that they are still trying to dust off the damage from the previous Kalinda romance before diving headfirst into anything new:
“We were really into the Kalinda husband story. We were the only two people in America who were into it. Marc Warren was doing a great job. But we have a slight overabundance of caution and we were worried that we didn’t have the time to build up the chemistry [between the two] so we decided to put a pause on that.”
So by this estimation, Juliet Rylance is still set to show up, though we are guessing based on production schedules at the moment that the second half of the season is a more likely window in which we are going to see her turn up. That in itself is rather sad, but we understand it. Maybe by that time the status of Alicia and Cary will be a little bit more cemented, since for the time being that is actually what we place most of the blame on when it comes to this story. In having to focus so much right now on the decline of Lockhart Gardner (at least for some of our characters) we are ultimately not getting too much of an opportunity to see the rest of our characters, and where they stand for the time being.
