‘Bones’ season 9 spoilers: Olympian McKayla Maroney impresses her way to guest spot

What's ahead -So what happens next on “Bones” season 9? Given that Booth and Brennan are now married, it’s a fair question to wonder. Typically when a TV couple gets married and then have a baby (or the other way around in this case), we do sit around and inevitably wonder if there is anything else good that is going to come up on the show next.

Luckily, we now know that the Fox series is picking up an impressive array of guest stars in the future. According to Entertainment Weekly, Richard Schiff from “The West Wing” fame has been cast in the new role of a theoretical physician, who is being more or less described as the Brennan of his field. Unfortunately, this is a man who is going to be in a very terrible, unspeakable situation when his story really starts to get going: His daughter will be dead, and this is the subject of the primary storyline.

So who could be a suspect? It’s none other than Olympic gymnast McKayla “not impressed” Maroney, who is set to play the part of a rival and fellow student of the deceased. Clearly, she is going to be one of the primary suspects in the case, but we’re personally hoping that she is not the guilty party, given that this is what the casting alone would seem to beg. This is not the first major acting gig for Maroney since she was a part of the famed group the Fierce Five, given that she was also on an episode of “Hart of Dixie.” Many of her fellow gymnasts from the team has also done TV gigs; Gabby Douglas was a judge on “So You Think You Can Dance” this past season, and we also saw Aly Raisman as a contestant on “Dancing with the Stars.”

“Bones” is undergoing a schedule shift thanks to the World Series, and is going to be off the air next week. If you do want to read some more news about a major schedule shift that is coming after that courtesy of the show staying on Mondays (at least for a couple more weeks), click here. There’s some good stuff coming ahead for the show, and we only hope that you keep on watching.
