‘New Girl’ season 3 spoilers: When is Coach returning? Find out now!

For all of you devoted fans of “New Girl” who have been eagerly waiting to find out just when you are going to see Damon Wayans Jr. return in the role of Coach, we now have an answer for you: It’s only a matter of two weeks away. Thanks to the World Series, the show is not going to be airing on Fox next week, but it will be back two weeks from today with an episode that is, very fittingly, entitled “Coach.”

As the official synopsis below teases that the return of Wayans to the show is sparked mostly by the end of his relationship, but for the actor his return is brought on by the end of “Happy Endings” after three seasons.

“A newly single Coach (guest star Wayans, Jr., ‘Happy Endings’) returns to the loft, and wants to pick up exactly where he left off when he moved out. Meanwhile Jess and Cece have a girls’ night out, during which they meet a handsome stranger (guest star Taye Diggs).”

We assume that the “handsome stranger” is a little more for Cece here, unless of course Jess and Nick break up for some reason tonight (which would send us into fits of hysteria). It’s nice to see Diggs do a comedy now following his time on “Private Practice,” where he was a little bit more of the “perfect” doctor who had almost everything.

We imagine that Coach’s return is going to come with its fair share of tension, mostly because this is a guy who could feel like Winston is stealing his spot and his thunder. Also, are his friendships going to be the same that they once were? We haven’t exactly heard of many conversations happening with everyone since he first moved away, which raises some inevitable questions as to what exactly has been going on with them.

The only thing that we are really expecting is complete hilarity. Wayans has already shown now on two separate programs that he can do a good job at getting the laughs and has set a high standard.
