Syfy renews ‘Face Off’ season 6; new season to premiere January 2014

Syfy -Is Syfy becoming a little bit more of the fan favorite with “Face Off”? It surely seems like it. Not only is the show coming back for more, but the cable network is also not wasting a whole lot of time in getting the show back on the air.

Even though the current season finale for the series is not airing until November 5, the show has already commissioned season 6, which features 14 more hopefuls looking to stretch their imagination, to premiere in January. Syfy loves this show, they also love viewers, and they are not getting much of that right now with some of their scripted programming. Obviously, they want to milk this series for what they can before it starts to lose some of its relevance. It’s for that reason that the show has also ordered a pair of standalone specials, including “Naked and Painted,” airing a week after the finale and focusing on the world of body painting, and also a countdown of the greatest designs ever on the show on November 29. This means that the only time that you will be away from this competition is during the holiday season.

As for the contestants remaining in this competition, it includes some of the following people: Miranda Jory of Los Angeles, CA; Laney Parkhurst of Manitou Beach, MI; Tate Steinsiek of Morris, OK; Laura Tyler of Orlando, FL; and Roy Wooley of Tucker, GA.

While we like it when Syfy has a lot of variety, and when they space their series out, we have to admit that when it comes to reality competition shows, at least this is one of the best when it comes to creativity and the quality of the contestants.
