‘Boardwalk Empire’ season 4, episode 8 preview: What is ‘The Old Ship of Zion’?

Check it out -Boardwalk Empire” loves the obscure references in their episode titles, and they are at it again with an hour entitled “The Old Ship of Zion.” So what exactly are we talking about here? Think along the ones of an old Christian hymn written near the end of the 19th century, and it is one that obviously plays into some of the story and themes that are going to be coming up next.

This episode more or less revolves around what happens when the Florida and the northeast stories collide when Nucky realizes that not everything is going to be as expected for him. Chalky is also going to be stirring the pot more, which is why some more people are starting to love the show now more than ever.

It is fair to say that this episode really starts to push forward into the “Boardwalk Empire” home stretch. There are only a few more episodes to air until the season finale, and this means to us that we are really going to start to see the shockers unfold.
