‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 6: Creator Kurt Sutter to screen episode for Sandy relief charity
“Sons of Anarchy” has been a hit on FX for some time, and while there have been a number of reasons for this (from the quality of the episodes to the subject matter), one of them has to be the way in which the network and creator Kurt Sutter choose to interact with the fans. When you look at some showrunners across cable TV, many of them choose to be distance from social media and will occasionally choose to give out an interview or two during the season. Kurt Sutter, however, is a little bit different; while he may be at times aggressively opinionated, he does his best year-round to actually provide updates on the state of the show, and some events that are coming up.
One of those events that he set up earlier this year was a challenge to fans. If the ratings for the premiere increased in the 18-49 demographic, then he would give back to at least one fan of the show by arriving to their hometown and watch an episode of the show with them. Well, the challenge was met, and the winners are set up for an experience that even some other people can enjoy.
In the video edition of “WTFSutter” below (which contains strong language for those of you who are watching this at work), Sutter confirms that on November 10, a couple of nights before ironically the 10th episode of the season, he is going to screen the episode for viewers in either Point Pleasant or Seaside Heights as a part of a way to raise money for Hurricane Sandy charities and Theo Rossi’s Staten Strong. Kurt grew up in the area, and both of his contest winners are also local to the region. While there are details still to come, he confirmed that he, Katey Sagal, Kim Coates, and Rossi would all be in attendance for the event. You can hear some details about it in the video, as he talks about how the event will be open to fans who give a small donation. The show aside, the part of the video that rings the truest is Sutter’s mentioning that more often than not, disasters are forgotten about months after they happen, but that there is still quite a bit of work that needs to be done. Hopefully this will be another way to help out.
