ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion, and a ‘Da Vinci’ code?
Are Castle and Beckett heading back down to Washington DC not that long after she just left the place? While it may be tempting to ask that question after seeing what sort of mystery the two are going to be embarking on “Castle” season 6 a week from Monday, that may not be entirely the case.
What we will say for the time being is as follows: The episode airing on Monday night carries with it the title of “Get a Clue,” and it features the two uncovering a case that is so deeply rooted in symbols, you would think that we were looking more at a Dan Brown novel than a show that is about trying to solve a murder with the NYPD. Meanwhile, the synopsis below also suggests that there is a big change coming in Alexis Castle’s personal life, which will hopefully inspire something to happen in what has been the most boring storyline to ever hit Rick’s daughter on the show:
“Castle and Beckett investigate the bizarre murder of a young woman who was found ritually posed. When the team finds a collection of strange symbols in her apartment and the prime suspect turns out to be a mysterious monk, Castle becomes convinced they’ve stumbled onto a ‘Da Vinci Code’ style conspiracy. Meanwhile, Castle tries to come to grips with the fact that Alexis and Pi have moved in together.”
The hardest thing to figure out about the Alexis / Pi story is that we have no idea ultimately what it is that Alexis sees in her new man in the first place. He’s an intrusive dude with weird facial hair who only eats fruit, and she seems to be so much more creative and intellectual than he is. Maybe it’s just a phase for now, since they wanted to give the character something new to take on. Let’s just say that not all experiments are worth being a part of. The story about the symbols and the conspiracy is something a little bit more exciting, even if it doesn’t have Tom Hanks or even Nicholas Cage involved in it in any way.
This episode has a great challenge in trying to be better than next week’s “Time Will Tell,” featuring a great appearance from none other than former “Chuck” star Joshua Gomez. You can watch a preview for that here, and stay tuned for more news related to the show.

Nothing against the actor but the addition of Pi is cringe worthy. I too cannot figure out what Alexis sees in him. And the character drags down every scene he appears in. I agree with Castle’s observation – something about being able to hear Alexis’ ambition being sucked out of her. It turns out the events of the last three episodes last season were complete contrivances and have been unsurprisingly swept under the rug. That’s fine – and I’m willing to ignore them too – including Vaughan and the fact that Kate’s ‘dream job’ arc barely lasted five episodes. If I do that I find I LIKE Kate again but I have to wonder if the addition of Pi was deliberately designed to distract us from the frustrating happenings at the end of last season?
